Mixed-Use Development in the Works for Green Hills | Nashville ...

Another week, another new Green Hills development! Last week we blogged about this Green Hills project that is currently planned for development. Today, we come to you bearing more news of the expanding?Green Hills neighborhood.

Earlier this week, it was announced that construction will begin next year on a yet-unnamed mixed-use development at one of Green Hills? most notable corners; Richard Jones and Hillsboro Roads.

Southern Land Co., is in the planning stages for a residential and retail project with construction projected to begin in the fall of 2012. The development?will include 265 efficiency, one- and two-bedroom units, along with townhouse and penthouse options. Those units will range from 500 to 2,500 square feet, with common amenities including a fitness center, a private clubroom and a rooftop pool. Leasing will begin in the spring of 2015. The building will be multi-level with the highest section planned at 14 stories.

The project will also include approximately 5,000 square feet of ground-floor restaurant space and 24,000 square feet of Class A office space. To make way for the new development, current buildings with tenants including Green Hills Gas, The Well Coffeehouse and Haury & Smith will be demolished.

Southern Land?s work can also be seen at two other mixed-use projects in the Nashville area, in Cool Springs at the second phase of Dwell at McEwen and at Nashville?s Elliston 23 project, which is slated for a spring 2013 opening. Dwell at McEwan is near completion, with 112 new units projected to be ready in January 2013. Elliston 23 will begin leasing on its 331 residential units and 15,000 square feet of retail space next month.
